I visited their shop about one month ago. I'm in my mid 50's and bought my Altima, new, fourteen years ago. I began hearing a ''squeal'' from under the hood, thinking it was a braking deficit so I brought it in to them.
While waiting I observed the reception desk person selling $90 oil changes (many shops abuse synthetic oil's value) along with one or two other questionable practices - it's always a good idea to be on guard when working with tradesmen especially when you're not all together familiar with their line of work.
They inspected my car and told me I'd need some $450 - $500 worth of work - I wasn't persuaded. Some of their techniques and conclusions were, in my view, suspect. I sought a second opinion (at Sears Auto Center @ 1511 W. Sunset Rd [10 minutes away] receiving 5 star service, debunking much of the Pep Boy findings [with proof], and all for 1/3 of the original price proposed - see my full review of Sears Car Care).
