This was my first ever escape room so I had no experience going into this. My girlfriend and I went here for her 26th birthday celebration.
**REVIEW**
We had no idea what to expect when going in there, but the staff was very friendly and reminded us that we choose the correct room for beginners (The Hostage Scenario). I won't go into too much detail about the escape itself, so I don't spoil anything for future people, but all I can say is that it was a very well designed game that had us pushed to our limits.
The set design was a bit simple, but I believe this was due to the difficulty level of the room itself. You actually feel like you're in a bachelor's small apartment room. There weren't too many pieces of furniture and I think that was a good idea since I over-analyze everything and most likely would have wasted a lot of time examining every piece individually.
The difficulty level was pretty spot on for beginners. I consider myself a relatively intellectual person, so I was pushed to think outside of the box and use that intellect in a new way; this attests to the good game design!
The "fun" factor was definitely spot on. The puzzles were interesting and were related to each other in some pretty cool ways. I really feel that the transitioning from "phase 1" to "phase 2" was really awesome (more of this always going to be fun for the players)!
**RECOMMENDATIONS**
-There was a clue that was a bit hard to understand if it was # of shelves from the ground up or top down. Having some clarification without having to ask the employees would be a recommendation. Maybe a clearer clue that is still just as clever as the one you guys gave, but would eliminate the over-analysis of whether or not the counting starts from the top or bottom.
-Discounts for future visits or a loyalty program for customers (not sure if you guys already have this)
**FINAL THOUGHTS**
We really really ENJOYED THIS EXPERIENCE and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND it to anybody who has thought about doing an escape room. It was a very rewarding feeling when we came out of the door with time to spare! I can't explain fully how it feels, but when we escaped under the time limit, it was a freeing sensation that came over me; I felt very proud/accomplished especially since we knew we only had 5 minutes left. We ended up completing the room in 55ish minutes out of 60 minutes.
