Today was my first shopping trip to Smith's. I came in because there was an amazing sale on Bumblebee Tuna- a case for $24 (.50 each.) Since this is all my boyfriend eats on the weekends I went by Smith's for this and some other sale items. My first to-do though was to get a Smith's card. The lady in the help area was not friendly to me at all as I signed up for the card. She set the wrong tone though because every other person at Smith's was friendly- even the over-worked girl helping the self-check-out people. I definitely waited a long time for her to help me check out so I think there needs to be a second person helping during busy hours. I was there around 3pm so I am guessing lots of Moms go by there after school? Everything in Smith's was pretty well-organized and the store seemed clean enough. Most of the sale items were stocked so I had no issue getting what I needed EXCEPT in the floral department. I was asked at least three times during my five minutes there, but unfortunately the dozen roses for $10 were out. I was not offered anything to come back at a later time when they were restocked. I was told they'd be restocked tomorrow but I work weekends so this isn't possible for me. I chose some light pinkish-white tulips instead. I thought I chose carefully and I handled them carefully after checkout, but when I arrived home half of them had broken stems. I guess unless I really reached into the bag you wouldn't notice. Not worth going back to the store to return them but I will definitely not buy flowers there anymore. Albertson's and Whole Foods flowers I've never had issues with. All in all I would go back to Smith's when I see good sales, but probably will not do most of my shopping there.
