  • Okay, So I've waited a while before deciding how to review this place because I had very mixed feelings. It's been 3 years since my last hair cut as I grow my hair really long so I can donate it. Soo I'm mega nervous about cutting my hair. And I was using a Groupon because I wanted to give coloured hair a try. In the end though, I still ended up paying over $200 "because of length" even though all the length was cut off in a matter of seconds and I was left with a shoulder length. I understand longer hair means extra cost but... it was incredibly short.. so basically you're telling me if your hair is at anything you can grab, you gotta pay quite a lot extra. The person who was suppose to help me was late but she was really nice and I didn't mind the wait. I was the first appointment anyway. They were really nice about giving me a water while I waited. The place was pretty empty. First thing they did was braid my hair and cut it. I didn't get a chance to take a before picture...guess we were all excited for the donation. I then wanted to get a few minutes to explain what I wanted.. since it had been so long since I had cut my hair and it would be a bit change, I wanted to make sure that my idea would suit me according to these experts. They didn't really listen much.. not much opinions or conversation. My ideas were acknowledged but brushed off. They just said "okay okay" and up till an hour in, I still didn't know if they understood what I wanted... By this time there were a few people in and my stylist was running between two customers... Doesn't leave me to think they understand what I want or even care... There were a LOT of flies and it was really distracting when they kept landing on me. Not really the experience I was looking for. Anyway.. they finished colouring my hair and it was a lot lighter than I had wanted.. which I thought it would be darker since it was a first time bleach. It definitely wasn't close to what I had asked for.. but I didn't mind it. The part that blew me away (in a bad way) was when they cut my hair.. I know they're experts, but she spend 5 minutes cutting.. I asked for soft layers that started short in the front and long in the back. She did that, but so quickly and roughly because she had a full salon and she kept looking away. I ended up having to ask her to touch up on the bangs, but she did that so incredibly fast that I just figured I'll fix it myself later.. They curled it up and it looked nice since it hid the choppy cut they did. I was happy with the color so I just figured it's fine. Thing is... once my hair got straight, I could see how incredibly choppy my cut was. And I was really really upset with it. I spent over $200 and they spend less than 8 minutes cutting my hair... They did not give me more than TWO MINUTES to explain what I was looking for in a new hair cut and they were running between customers the whole time. As much as I think they're really nice people, I would never return for a hair cut. Maybe colouring is their forte here, but I definitely want someone who's going to actually pay attention to the cut and style of my hair. Honestly, the person cutting wasnt the same one colouring and they did not both hear what I even wanted.. They were trying to do multiple clients at once and I think that's just greedy to squeeze in so many people and sacrificing quality of cut. I wouldn't return here sadly. Way over $200.. So I would expect better attention. I would recommend you find a stylist who really cares how you look.
