  • OK, I read the reviews here about Le Cordon Bleu here in Las Vegas. I am unsure as to my feelings about each of them. I attended school here. I learned so much about the P&B program.I agree in our class alone.. some were there because their parents were making them and others because welfare or some other entity was paying their way... but so many in my class about 12 were very serious about what we were learning. I had a tough time with people that didn't give a damn about if they were there everyday or not. Those of us (12 people approx) were there everyday and learned a great deal. We started in our first class of ServSafe and Culinary Foundations with Chef Diana. She was very informative and really tried to make sure we understood what we were learning. I really enjoyed her teaching. Chef Ward, substituted for a few days in the beginning of school, one thing I remember he said, "look at those persons sitting next to you, some of them will not be here to the end"...and boy was her right..... The next class or classes for several weeks we had Chef Brenda... She was AWESOME..Chef Brenda, WOW, what can I say. I will never forget her and hope that one day I will have the opportunity to work with her side by side. This next class was the hardest for me...We had a Chef, who will remain nameless, that only cared about her/his self, the cell phone, and leaving the classroom every other minute, going on field trips instead of really teaching. I felt like we were only told what to do and when to do it... not like students who were trying to learn..it was a trying six weeks.. but luckily the (12 of us) and others made it through... On to our final class... hurray......Chef Pete and Chef Damian... We had a great time..all of us students learned more in 2 days than we had learned in the last 6 weeks.. It was a great way to end our school year... Overall, I would agree the school should be more particular in choosing students that really truely want to be there. It is considered to be a private school, so their should be a list of criteria to be followed when allowing certain persons to attend. The falculty here are pretty awesome. They do help the students as best as they can. If I can say one thing to any persons that may have a problem...GO TO SEE THE PRESIDENT...he will try to help you and will be honest in what he is saying. I would definately tell everyone here who is reading this...If this is a career you dream to follow, follow it here at Le Cordon Bleu...
