We recently visited this restaurant for the first time. We had been working a trade show and were pretty hungry when we arrived. Their chips and salsa were yummy and we ordered some guac which was tasty as well. We ordered a poblano quesadilla and Border classics appetizer to share (2 corn tamales, 2 plantain empanadas, and 2 chicken panudos). We weren't sure what to get, so the Border Classics was recommended.
The quesadilla was pretty good, but the cheese was a bit rich. The corn tamales were my favorite. I love this type of corn filling, being from the South (where it is sometimes called fried corn). The plantain empanadas were soggy and bland, so we did not finish those. We are 99% vegetarian but were hungry so we each tasted the chicken panudos.....the chicken tasted boiled and very bland, so we did not eat more than the one bite and I wished that I had not tasted it at all. The worst part of the experience was that everything was pretty darned expensive.
We went during a very busy time, yet the service was still pretty good and everyone we encountered was pleasant. They kept the beer coming, and we had a good time overall, so I might give it another go when I'm back out that way.
