  • This was my first time visiting and I wish I would have read this before hand. I was shot multiple times by my ex-husband while seven months pregnant and therefore have had lower back pain for years. With all the DEA laws I have always been very careful like going to one doctor one pharmacy etc. When the treatment that my pcp had me on was no longer working she recommended I see a pain specialist. I came here and seen Dr. Carlson and he said all the right things but didn't do anything for me. I was in so much pain I was crying and he said since he didn't have my medical records he could not give me pain medication but gave me about four to five RXs for withdrawal....WHAT ABOUT MY PAIN?? Why are we being treated like drug addicts all because we want to take what works? Now with the doctor office transmitting perceptions to the pharmacy I did not get anything at all!! I called the after hours number and was so badly disrespected my daughter had to get involved. During the office visit he had me try to touch my toes,he was pulling and pushing on my back he made it feel worse, then after that said he would not write for anything. The one rx that I did walk out the office with was something called methylprednisolone. The directions told me to take six of those pills at once and after doing so I was so nauseauted I couldn't even stand up straight. I got a bad headache and I had severe heartburn.I had an allergic reaction and no one gave a damn. They had me sign so many pain contracts that I could not even go to the emergency room in fear that they would think that I was drug seeking person. So I am left with no pain medication no medication period. No one in that office helped at all and all i want to do is feel better thats all. I am a single mother if three children and i don't have the luxury of lying in bed all day. I have to take care of my family!! Normally i can take a pain pill and go on about my business. Now i cant even go to work because my concentration is broken by the pain. Why did they take my money if they knew they didn't have my records and could not help me? Why did they try to kill me by telling me to take six pills at one time and this medication had nothing to do with my pain? He did not explain why he prescribed it yet I was told to follow my directions given. Why are we penalized for wanting to take what works? Yes, I know oxycodone is what folks consider a street seeked drug but I have not broken any rules what so ever. This same doctor said that he does not think I should have surgery but I need to do what works. They want me to come back and pay another copay not knowing if he is really going to do something. How can I know that something will be done for me before I pay this money? Does anyone know a doctor that actually listens to the patient? My back is on fire and I have to fight through it until the morning because I don't want them calling me a drug seeker. Can anyone point me in the right direction of a good pain specialist doctor? Please help me out
