Unfortunately, Eyebrows R Us 2 isn't on Yelp. But I went to the Sunset/Marks location in the Wal-Mart shopping center.
This was my first time getting my eyebrows threaded. I grew them out FOR this. My cousin and aunt have theirs done pretty frequently and when they fixed my cousin's eyebrows I just had to try. I've done my own eyebrows since about 5th grade. I've had them waxed 3-4 times in that entire time. I always just tweeze them myself. I'm anal about my eyebrows being groomed, so it was very difficult to grow them out for this.
I went after work one day and I walked in...there's nothing in the front of the shop. I got 1/2 off for my first time visit.
They bring you to this long room in the back, sit you in a salon chair under bright lights, and put some tissue on your chest for the hairs that fall. I read reviews about how waxing and tweezing hurt more than threading...
WRONG! It hurt. My eyes were watering. I have a high tolerance for pain and tweezing/waxing is nothing. I just don't like the time it takes to tweeze and the redness/dryness after waxing.
The lady that did my eyebrows BURPED in my face more than once. I was like...uhhhh, okay.
I'm Italian and I have a round face. I have to have shapely eyebrows. I like thickness at the start, and they need to thin out. I told her that. After I had my eyebrows threaded, they were like someone took the edge of a sharpie and drew them on. One width! Not cool.
The one thing I DO like about my eyebrows now is the top. She really cleaned them up. However, I might have to grow them out again and go somewhere else.
* Also, if you ever get your brows done too thin, use a Q-tip and dip it in some women's rogaine (no lie) and rub it on your brows where you want the hair. It really shortens the time you have to wait to fix them.
UPDATE: You know those little black dots you get when your eyebrows start to grow back? The hair follicles? Yeah, I've never had SO MANY. Threading really just makes you look like someone splattered paint around your eyebrows. Now I have to wait for the hair to come out to pluck them again. This is horrible. I'm sticking to tweezing and doing my own brows.
