New York Nails is an unassuming nail salon just across the street from the Greenfield Giant Eagle. They do a great job!! I do not get acrylic nails, but I know many people who go there for them regularly (including my mother) and they have always been very pleased. The technicians, including the owner (or manager?) Kim (at the first table), are friendly and personable. Although they accept walk-ins, if you are on a schedule or want a certain technician, it is better to make an appointment because they are so popular that they get very busy.
One thing I love about their pedicures is that they massage your entire calf, not just your feet. I got spoiled having this done at salons in Boston, and it's the only place in Pittsburgh that I've found a $20 pedicure where they do this.
I pay $10 for a manicure (again, not for acrylic) and $20 for a pedicure. Their French manis and pedis are $5 extra.
Another great thing is that street parking in this area has always been very easy. I used to go to another, similar nail salon on Forbes -- and after going to NY Nails a few times, I will never go back to the other place. The quality of the work here is much better!!
