I discovered Kensington Market by accident a few years ago. It's a bustling warren of funky mom-and-pop shops (crafts, etc.), restaurants, ice-cream parlors, and such.
This time around, I discovered there was more of it than I thought: I only knew the strip along Augusta Avenue, but discovered more stores along Baldwin Street and Kensington Avenue. Bought myself some useful items at an army-navy store.
This is exactly the sort of community that's in danger from all the recent condominium redevelopment in the downtown. Do visit Kensington Market before it should completely disappear!
