This is probably the best quality budget hotel on the strip in Vegas - the room is still clean and is not too shabby. Recently they have upgraded the rooms too. The one we stayed at in the Mardi Gras tower was newly renovated. You really don't want the cheapest hotel you can find. I think Harrah's is better than Circus Circus, Excalibur and other off-strip hotels like Silver Sevens which are just slightly cheaper than Harrah's.
Not many good restaurants in Harrah's, but the location is great! It's next to the new LINQ in which Guy Fieri's restaurant+bar can be found. It's also opposite to the vast Caesar's Palace which houses tons of restaurants, nightclubs and bars. Although there's not much to offer in terms of dining at Harrah's, the location makes up for it.
Also I like how it is so easy to find your elevator to your room at Harrah's. It's not huge like other hotels so you don't get lost as easily.
Service was friendly and prompt. Make sure you sign up for the Total Rewards Program for discounts and free plays.
One thing I don't like about Harrah's is the smell... Yeah people smoke in all the casinos in Vegas, but there are hotels that do a better job de-odorizing the smoke, not Harrah's though.
Bottom line, best budget hotel on the Vegas strip!
