| - I went to Erie Shore for a few years before utilizing them for OB services. Many of the nurses were friendly, but others were not very personable at all and made you feel uncomfortable and like you were a nuisance to them. My first significant issue with them was that I was "extensively referred" to other doctors whenever I had any questions. I had headaches and was referred to a neurologist. I was also told by Dr. Kovach to visit an endocrinologist and a high-risk OB for things that could have been handled by them in their office if they would have taken the time to listen and advise on the things that were going on. These superfluous visits ended up costing me an additional $3,000 and, as I said, were deemed by those other doctors to be unnecessary. It made Dr. Kovach look inept and often left me sitting there in the exam room after she breezed in, referred me to someone else, and breezed out thinking "Why did I come here?"
My other significant issue is that the office staff seems to have significant difficulties processing paperwork and insurance information. My insurance changed since I had been there for regular GYN checkups and despite giving them my new card EVERY SINGLE TIME I WENT THERE, they continued to bill the old insurance company, who obviously didn't cover anything, and I ended up getting billed for nearly $1,000 in charges for their office because they couldn't bother to make sure they put through the bill and had the correct information. A friend of mine had similar issues. Oversights like that made it a VERY easy decision to leave that office before the end of my pregnancy and switch to another doctor.
I would not recommend going there to anyone. They cost me nearly $4,000 just because of their indifference and lack of attention to detail.
I switched to Westshore Women's Health in Westlake at 32 weeks and absolutely LOVE it there!
