Worst experience at a dealership ever. We went into the dealership to buy a specific car based on the advertised price of the car on Cars dot com. We drove 45 minutes to the dealership after verifying that the car was still there and were fully prepared to pay cash for the vehicle at the FULL advertised price (which was still over Car Fax value).
However, when it came time to sit down and do the deal, the salesman informed us that the car was actually $1,000 more than what it was advertised at because we were not going to finance through them. We showed him the Cars dot com ad and showed him that the fine print DID NOT align with what he was saying. The salesman agreed with us, but said there was nothing he could do. We asked to speak with the manager and were told NO. WHAT?!? What kind of business does not let a customer speak to a manager? We were willing to allow them to handle their false advertising in house without making a big deal about it, but they refused. At this point, we are visibly upset to everyone in the dealership. We were asked to leave....but still not by the manager. No, he was hiding in the corner....presumably to avoid being called out on illegal advertising tactics. As we were walking out the door, the same arrogant manager finally came out from his corner and began to clap as we left. Seriously? Who does that? You all could've avoided the scene in two easy ways. #1 - HONOR YOUR ADVERTISED PRICES. #2 - Allow customers to speak with a manager when they have concerns or questions.
Your decision to clap as we left was confirmation enough that you knew exactly what you were doing when you falsely advertised that vehicle. And since you refused to listen to our legitimate concern in person, we're going to tell anyone who will listen.
