rev:text	First off, and most importantly - this is not a review of the music played on 102.1 the Edge. Would I like to see it return to its CFNY glory days? Of course. But radio stations are businesses that play what the majority of their listeners want. That's understandable, so while it might not be my music of choice, it doesn't necessarily make it a good or bad station. What makes 102.1 a terrible station is the DJs. For me it all started with Dean Blundell. I couldn't believe the garbage that came out of that man's mouth. The potty humour of the morning show was low-brow, insulting, and appealing to the lowest hanging fruit of the GTA. Then occasionally you'd get Alan Cross on the show and I'd literally bang my head on the dashboard - Alan, what are you doing? You're a smart guy. Can't you see how you're whoring out a great station to a handful of ignorant shock jocks? I couldn't take it any more. When I heard that Dean and his bunch was fired for making light of a sexual assault case, I programed them back into my car radio. I had hope! The current bunch are moderately better, but far from quality. Fred, he seems like a decent guy, but he needs to be paired with someone who is his equal. Oh yes Fred, when Mel doesn't get your jokes or respond in a complementary way, we can actually hear your eyes roll into the back of your head. And Josie...she must be some executive's kid, because when she talks, drivers fall asleep. She tries to jazz up her program with stories of sex and teenage exploits, but I don't think that impresses anyone but the old DB fans. I like comic books and movies. CFNY was the 2002 Spider-man movie starring Toby Maguire: honest, authentic, sweet and genuine. Edge 102 is The Amazing Spiderman with Andrew Garfield. Crappy acting, lots of CGI and explosives but nothing of substance. Lastly...the girl with the fake Irish accent who reads the name and lyrics of the songs...why? What is the benefit to this? Kind of reminds me of the washed up musician who takes his rock song acoustic, just to...I dunno...make more money and prove that he's a mulit-faceted individual with deep feelings. It just sounds ridiculous.
