| - My absolute favorite, go-to trails for any given good riding day. I only get to ride a few times a month and Sherman Branch is always fun, challenging, and take care of rather well.
Located pretty far south off of Monroe Rd, this series of trails isn't the quickest to get to, but easy to find. The parking lot is a small gravel lot with space for about 30-40 cars. It tends to get a little crowded, but people cycle in and out fast enough where you typically don't have to wait for a parking space.
The trails themselves are amazing. The main trail is around 8 miles and the accompanying "Roller Coaster" and lake trail add another 5 or so miles. Doing the entire series will definitely put you to the test. Where the main trail is challenging with several rock gardens and obstacles, the roller coaster has TONS of ups and down, steep climbs, and fun turns. The lake course, my least favorite, is probably the most rough. If you're riding 17" tires like me, it can be a little tough to roll over some of the rock gardens and obstacles. I'd imagine if you're riding 19", you'd have a bit more of a breeze.
Best part is that parking is completely free.
It can be kind of difficult to know the conditions of the trails, but I think the Twitter account is updated pretty frequently with details. Ride on!
