| - It's been a while since our move and I was hoping that I wouldn't have to write this sad review. We had scheduled a long distance move with Champion movers for last February. The pick up crew who loaded our belongings in Las Vegas were pretty good and deserving of at least 3 stars. They seemed to pack and load efficiently and our place was empty in about 4 hours.
On the flip side, after many calls to Champion, asking when our shipment would arrive, we finally got a call that it would be at our storage unit tomorrow. That's funny because it was due there at least 4 days ago. That's fine. We can live with this.
I arrived to our storage unit, with our babies in tow. In my experience, unloading into a storage unit cannot take more than packing up a house into a moving truck. Well, it took these two guys from Champion Movers over 7 hours!! 7 hours of me waiting for them to unload my stuff. Me asking how much longer and them telling me, about an hour...every time. I surely could have done this myself in about 4 hours with two babies on my hips.
They had a woman or women in the back of the cab of their truck. They asked me to get them burgers. Also, at one point I saw they had stacked a table base on a box marked fragile. The Champion Movers response was to shake the box, not hearing anything rattle and say, "it's fine".
I've moved a lot and have had excellent service hiring help. This service sucked, to put it gently. After reporting these issues and other details of our move we basically got offered $100 for our trouble. No thanks, Champaign Movers. Keep the change.
Please see pictures for how not to stack boxes in a storage unit. This is how Champion will stack your personal belongings and damage your furniture. Find other Movers, and rest easy.
