  • I bought my house about a year ago and realized in June when it started heating up, I should maybe have a checkup on my AC, so I wasn't surprised if it stopped working. I called other companies before I called One Hour and the others were telling me to wait two weeks, three weeks, two MONTHS even before they could schedule a "tune-up" appointment. I called One Hour, and they were there the following weekend. The tech showed up shortly after the beginning of the time frame they gave me, so I appreciated that he stuck with the between 10am and whatever (I think he came around 10:30). Checked out the outside, then came in to check the attic unit. The attic unit check was unexpected (that's probably my own ignorance) so I didn't have time to move clothes out of the closet before he went in. The clothes got covered in dust and there were dirty smudges from his hands on the walls and crawlspace cover. That's frustrating, but mostly only because I don't have a ladder to get up there myself and clean them. After he went over the sheet with me, my unit was in tip-top shape and everything was good... but then came the warranty discussion. The techs must get some sort of incentive to sell the warranties because this gentleman was having a hard time taking no for an answer. I explained I had a home warranty so I was fine, but he said that any warranty repairman would screw it up worse (maybe right in some conditions, but still... pushy). I finally got him to move off the topic. I had some weird noises coming out of the outside unit after he did the inspection, so I had a somewhat savvy friend take a look - apparently the tech forgot to tighten something down, and that was the issue. I will call them again for their help, but I definitely will remember to get my clothes covered with a sheet before he goes up in the attic, and request to double-check that everything's been tightened down. Can't beat the time it takes them to do the quick tune-up, and how quickly you can schedule someone!
