I stayed here over New Year's 2011/2012. My first impression of the place was standing in a long line waiting to check in and watching a mom with her baby as the baby puked all over the floor. The mother scurried away as if nothing happened and we watched from a distance while people unknowingly walked through baby puke!!! Not exactly the best start to our Vegas weekend. I don't hold Vdara accountable because the staff took care of the situation very quickly. Just know that I'm NEVER a fan of bringing any child of any age to Vegas. Unless you are 21, stay away!!! The long line moved pretty quickly and we got to the check-in counter around 4ish and were told our room wasn't ready. WTF?! We had early dinner plans! Well, they realized it was their mistake so they offered us a variety of options and made up for it. We hung out in the trendy bar/lounge area and got our buzz on with no complaints. Anyway, we got a great rate for a corner suite that overlooked the Bellagio fountains. I shopped around extensively and this place had the best rates and the room had a lovely view and was brand new, very clean, comfortable, and decorated modern and tasteful. I must warn you that this is NOT a casino and smoking is not allowed ANYWHERE! I know that sounds great but when I'm in Vegas, I like to have a little drunken cigarette here and there...well I couldn't here, damn! And while it was nice not to have to walk through a casino the size of a football field in order to get to our room each night, casinos are where all the great people watching takes place. I would definitely recommend this place to folks who hate smoking and/or casinos but are visiting Las Vegas for whatever reason. For me though...as long as I have a bit of party left in me, I'll stick to the smoker friendly casino type establishments!
