| - It is truly unfortunate for me to write this review, as I was left utterly disappointed. My boyfriend and I are avid Cirque fans. Being from Hawaii, we rarely have decent shows, so we try our best to attend as many shows/events (especially Cirques) when we're overseas. My 6 friends and I did some research, as some have already watched Mystere and O, we figured we'll give KA a try since they have good reviews and have been around for a while. What a big mistake....
This was our 5th Cirque show to attend. When walking in, we were mesmerized by the stage layout and the music. We were so excited!!! And a couple of our friends have NEVER seen a Cirque show so we were anticipating a great show!
Yelpers...Sorry to say, you guys misled me on this one. I agree with Gina W. These 4-5 star reviews are truly deceptive, especially if you've seen multiple Cirque shows, whether the stationed ones in LV/NY or the on-tour shows. I've watched Quidam, Totem, Mystere, Amaluna. ALL are better than KA. Yes, KA may have had the story line, but the acrobatic part left me dry. It was weak... CIRQUE is about entertainment! From the storyline, the music, the humor, and AMAZING ACROBATS. Only 2 things came out of this show. Storyline and Music. The rest were non-existent. The pendulum part? The guy almost died doing the jump rope by tripping on his back foot. He eventually attempted only twice and threw the jump rope out. The baton action? Sad to say, but this was probably the coolest part of the show. The hand puppet, the continuous dropping of the javelin/spear thing, the annoying big lady, the weird bugs and sand, the creepy kylo-ren looking mofo standing in the back while the baton lady did her thing. This show was all too weird, monotonous, and simply annoying. Over-rated and over-priced.
Something positive? The stage was pretty awesome, clever. The seats with cupholders were comfortable with sounds coming out of the head rest.
If you're a first time Cirque attendant, you may like this one. But the friends I brought with me, who were first timers, didn't quite enjoy it to the fullest, as they admitted, they were BORED and actually fell asleep at one point! They were being modest and said they couldn't compare it to another show but we all know KA was a clear disappointment. I'm glad we didn't witness any accidents though.
Go watch a different (Cirque) show instead. Even a non-cirque show like Absynth, I heard, was top-notch. Skip this one unless you've watched everything else, or you REALLY ENJOY sleeping.
