  • The MGM Grand closed the iconic lion habitat in 2012 and all of lions were relocated to this current location. Even though it was a fairly short visit (20 ~ 30 minutes), I think this is probably one of the coolest things you can do in Las Vegas. Price: $25 per adult (includes one free child admission from 4 ~ 14 & $10 for an extra child), $20 for seniors, military, fire, and police (with ID), $18 for college student with ID, and free admission on your birthday (or pick any day in the month of your birthday). There's absolutely no need to pay an additional online fee in order to book ahead of time - this place isn't as crowded as your typical zoos and you can just pay at the door. Initially I mistakenly reserved the wrong date, but I learned that the staff won't care about the designated reserved date as long as you bring and print your ticket on the day of your visit. *** What to see *** Lions: You will not find a better opportunity to see them at such a close distance. Some lions slept under the shade of trees and it was hard to get a good picture. Want to hand-feed a lion? That will be $100 per person (must be 8+ years old & occasionally you get daily special like 50% off on any hand feeds when you pay with cash). Giraffe (Ozzie - currently about 2 ~ 3 years old): I actually paid $10 (originally $20, but I got 50% off daily special) and fed Ozzie with my very own hands! So apparently giraffes are always hungry and they thrive under the warm climate (temperature below 50? is not good for giraffes). Currently Ozzie is the only giraffe in the state of Nevada and right now there's actually no zoos in Nevada. There's even a painting session for Ozzie (you can pay $100 to be a part of the 8x10 painting session with Ozzie - you get to pick your colors)! Other animals: Parrots, emus, ostriches, etc. *** In the end I paid $20 for a large lion plush and $15 for a small giraffe plush because I wanted to support this ranch. Where else can you get THIS close of an interaction with giraffe and lion? Just keep asking questions about these animals - the more you ask the better your experience will be. Definitely one of the hidden gems in Las Vegas (15 ~ 16 miles away from the Strip)! P.S. - The ranch is right next to the M Resort!
