Tucked in from the hustle of Queen Street W. this place transports you to Japan. There is even an authentic samurai enclosed in glass here! haha. Also for a larger group you can get one of those private rooms where you sit on the floor with your shoes off. (Wear cool socks). The staff are very friendly in spite of the language barrier (Hey even more authenticly japanese). The food is cheap and it's really fresh and tasty.
I've read reviews here where people have recommended aspara-bacon.....I couldn't find it on the menu and the waitress was very confused when I asked for it. (I had a japanese friend w/ me who helped me out and still no luck) -but anyways the hotate (scallops w/ sauteed onions in butter sauce) was really good. The beef ribs are soo tender. If you get the sushi/sashimi combo they put wasabi between the rice and the fish so you dont have to keep applying your wasabi.
-Once the sushi chefs see that your a regular they treat you like old friends. That's pretty darn cool.
