  • My Nexus 5x got some water that leaked into the cupholder on a road trip. Touch screen stopped responding. Took it in, was told free 2 day diagnostic. Sounds good to me. I call in 2 days later, I'm told the phone is fixed for $60 fee for cleaning corrosion. 3 stars for timing my phone for a reasonable fee. Only 3 because I wasn't asked if I want to pay for the service. I'd have agreed, but informed consent is important in my book. They wouldn't have released the phone without me paying. What if the fee was $300 and I didn't want to do it? Would they return my phone to me for not agreeing to a service I didn't consent to then? It worked out this time, so thank you.
