  • To be honest, I really don't understand all the hype about Dor-Stop. Maybe it's the fact that it was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dive? Or it gives you that small town, homey diner feel? None the less, I have definitely experienced better. We stopped in on a Saturday morning to meet my brother in law's family for breakfast. They arrived 10 mins earlier than us and were able to get seated right away. Because there were 9 of us, they had to accommodate accordingly in their small facility so things around our table were a bit cramped. No big deal though, it's understandable. Dor-Stop is known for their pancakes but because I am not fan, I opted for the Potato Pancake breakfast which came with 2 potato pancakes and 2 eggs, cooked to your liking. You are able to add a side of meat for $2. I added bacon with mine. Our food took quite some time to come out. There were 2 tables that came in after us that received their meals before us. Kind of irritating as we're all on the verge of getting hangry, but we assumed they're holding some plates behind so they could bring all of our meals out together. I really wasn't too impressed with my meal. The potato pancakes were good but they're very greasy as was the bacon. I had to use a napkin to soak up some of the excess grease. The eggs were good though. They're light and fluffy which is how I like my eggs to be when scrambled. The staff member who was refilling our coffee was very nice, our waitress though, was not. She was not very attentive and never had a smile on her face. She got an attitude when my husband asked for an orange juice to go and snatched our check off the table because she had to add another OJ to it. This could've been easily fixed if she were to ask if any of us needed anything else before bringing our checks out. He also asked for a to go box in which he never received it. My brother in law's mother had to go up to the counter to get her box because our waitress didn't bring hers either.. Maybe it was because she was too busy chatting in the corner with another staff member to even pay attention. All in all, it wasn't a very pleasant experience and I was not impressed, which is quite upsetting since I've heard many great things about it.
