What a surprisingly fun and informative museum! Though this small museum can be covered in a couple of hours, you'll come away with a deep appreciation for this ubiquitous part of our lives -- its evolution, development, and place in history. Not just fashion is displayed, but also the functionality and cleverness of some arcane designs. The engineer in me was fascinated by some of the specialized footwear for snow travel (not just snow shoes are shown), moon walks, agriculture (spiky horror movie-like design by French farmers for shelling chestnuts), animals (truly elegantly designed hoof-wear for cows); and the accompanying tools-of-the-trade for making shoes.
