| - The Desert Botanical Garden and the Musical Instrument Museum are my two favorite places in the Phoenix metro area. In fact, I like them both so much, I became a member of each. The Botanical Garden is, quite simply, the most stunning outdoor attraction there is (except, maybe on one of those 115 degree summer afternoons). I make it a point to go there at least monthly, on average). Whenever we have out of town guests, we take them here. They are always stunned. Even for those who think a desert has nothing to look at, it is remarkable. Spring time, especially, is fabulous because of the flowering of all the plants, particularly the Saguaro in late May/early June. They also feature an excellent restaurant and gift shop, neither of which require admission to the gardens. If you have a couple of hours to spend on a leisurely walk, you must go to the Desert Botanical Garden. Let the magic happen.
