| - I came to get a crystal replacement, and get the movement which was gaining time regulated. I left with a 7 year old orange monster that looked, and functioned better than it did when new.
Anthony's gives off the vibe of a dying breed of oldschool skilled labor. The kind that takes pride in their work through attention to detail. It's really too bad modern society is so used to throwing things away, and replacing with new. Making artisans like this more and more scarce.
He disassembled my watch then explained to me each step he took to slow down my watch, and made a total of 3 adjustments till the machine showed a flatline. I'll need at a least a week to verify how well it's regulated.
While replacing the crystal, he noticed right away the replacement I provided was sapphire while the factory one wasn't. He handed the case to his son to pressure test, and checked his work each step. Upon reassembly, he explained to me the type of lubrication he was using on the movement.
Although I didn't ask for it, Anthony had the bracelet polished, and included the service in the price he quoted me over the phone. He had his employee polish it, and sent the guy back multiple times after inspecting it. Since my watch was a mix of brushed and polished finished. He had part of the bracelet done in polished finish initially to let me decide on brushed or polished finish. I opted to keep the brushed finish of the original. The polishing job was great, my stainless bracelet became a lighter color, and seemed to have more of a luster than when it was new.
The finished product had a bracelet with a better luster than new, a crystal more clear than new, that really plays with the light and reflections, all buildup in the nooks and crannies removed, and I'm confident will be keeping better time.
I'll be getting my other automatics refreshed with Anthony when the time comes. Pun intended.
