| - tl;dr: This is safe and easily the coolest thing to do in Las Vegas! It's thrilling and exciting and rewarding.
My friend and I signed up for this after seeing their Groupon advertised. We called up and they were kind enough to honor the Groupon rate without making us buy the Groupon itself.
Having said that, it was the coolest thing I've ever done and I would have paid full price and then some!
I'm pretty athletic, and I used to do gymnastics. My friend is also athletic but never did gymnastics (she plays basketball) and she is afraid of heights -- we both LOVED it and did really well! In our group there was also a mom who was a bit overweight, and her husband. That is, there was a range of athletic ability in the group, and it's a testament to the instructors that everyone was safe, did well, and enjoyed it so much!
The instructors are the best ones possible: we never felt like we were in danger, even though we were swinging 23 feet in the air! Thank you to Stephan, Rene, Charlie, and Sarah. You are all incredibly talented, friendly, and patient.
They instructed us perfectly to build up our skills from jumping off the platform, hanging from our knees, doing a backflip dismount, all the way up to making a catch! In the span of 90 minutes, we went from never having touched a trapeze to doing a backflip and a mid-air flying catch!
My parents came along to watch, and my 55-year-old mom and 65-year-old dad were both mad they didn't sign up themselves. They both said that they are going to sign up and do it next time, and I have no doubt they can and they will.
We went December 3, and it wasn't too cold (warmed up to high 50's, maybe 60F), so I really think that there is no bad time to do this thing. We are planning to come back in March and do it again.
Seriously, I recommend this to anyone. Email me and I will tell you in person how awesome it is. They make me want to move to Las Vegas so I can take lessons all the time.
