| - Update: Roughly 8 months later, I went into the business about 2 and a half months ago or so. Spoke to the new manager on spot, he told me the business owner wouldn't pay me (or even give me a call to explain why I had never heard from them personally) because my car is "modified" with after market items... hmm, I didn't realize the car wash was run by A car dealership and if I modify my car it voids my rights or whatever they did to the car!! That just doesn't make sense, no where does it say that they don't have to pay for damage CAUSED BY THEM if the car is modified, or "modified vehicles beware!"
The manager told me something along the lines of we get a couple thousand cars a day, this kind of thing rarely happens. (My thoughts were OK, then take care of it when it does!!) He then followed with "now we watch for cars and take off air valve covers if they're long" but obviously that didn't happen with my car, and that's why I'm STILL here.
He told me that he would give me a call to see if the manager would change his mind and pay me BACK for the damage done to my car, (mind you when the damage first happened, the manager of the time told me I would be refunded the cost of fixing the tire, days later the initial manager is no longer there)
A few days later, I get a call from a restricted number (I never answer restricted number calls) and guess who it is, the manager. He left a voicemail, saying he would give me a call later in the day or the next day. (Never received one) but he must not have wanted me to be able to call back, because he never added a number to reach him, and seeing he was calling on an unknown restricted number really seals the deal.
If anything happens with your car at this business they will not fix the problem, and will avoid you and the issue they caused like a plague. The business owner has not once reached out to me, either to explain his reasoning as to why they will not pay me back, or resolve the issue. It's getting ridiculous. If the sum of what happened wasn't $100+ I would have dropped the issue, but this is quite a bit of money for a college student for them to just throw to the side.
This business needs to learn how to handle issues, as I've seen many others have cars have issues arise from the car wash, and when they reach out (Facebook, yelp etc.) they don't hear anything for months as well. The business owner goes silent on any issues they cause.
Although I'm dragging this issue out, I'm just appalled that they never resolved it correctly, if anything they treated this issue like it was a nuisance to them, and continuously brushed it off and never took it seriously.
If the business wants to reach me. They have several options (that they know of), and I will still be waiting to hear from them. You shouldn't own a business if you can't apologize, resolve, and admit a fault every once in a while (or at all in this case).
