It's my understanding that Jet Fuel is the go-to stop with local bike messengers, and it doesn't surprise me one bit. The name is not just a cutesy affectation, but a lifestyle. Your entire visit will be a pleasant jolt to your senses, from the moment you walk in to the blasting music to the frisson you'll experience with the first sip of the potent coffee.
When I was having a rough day and worked in Cabbagetown, I would hop over to Jet Fuel for a little pick me up. If we brought back coffees for everyone the whole office would be abuzz for the rest of the day. But it's also some of the best coffee in the city, so no one's complaining when they're bouncing off the walls.
The ambiance in the shop itself leaves a bit to be desired in my opinion, but there's always an opportunity to grab a to go cup and sip it on the way or sit in the park and enjoy your drink. This isn't one of those touchy-feely, Enya on the radio kind of coffee shops, and thank goodness for that!
