My first year with Peter Fagan Associates was swell. He and his team were able to file my taxes quickly, and communicating with Peter and his assistant via e-mail was sufficient for my needs.
But for anyone out there with a tax situation that's even remotely complicated, I'd hesitate to recommend them. When I moved out of country, Peter assured me he could help me file both my Canadian and American returns. The process was less than perfect and hampered by consistently poor communication. He's even told me that my e-mail must have gone to a spam folder which is an excuse that doesn't pass muster in 2013. And when he listed my occupation on my US return as "computer something" (http://cl.ly/image/2n1O0i0l2Q0M) that wasn't my favorite. Kind of unprofessional.
As of this review, I'm still waiting to hear back on an inquiry I sent in months ago, but I've already moved on to another accountant. Honestly, they're probably just fine for simple returns and local clients, and Peter and his team are indeed very friendly, but I'd truly hesitate to recommend them.
