I removed my earlier post of this office because I wrote it in the heat of the moment and wanted to give myself time to calm down. Eight hours later and I'm still angry, but I will be more diplomatic.
I chose this office because it was recommended to me and I have not had a regular GP for some time. When I arrived there wasn't anyone at reception so I signed in and took a seat. After 15 mins of waiting I went looking for a receptionist since I assumed there would be a lot of paperwork for my first visit. The receptionists were polite enough, but seemed more interested in chit chat than in getting me to my appointment.
A staff member called my name and took me back of house where he weighed me and showed me to an exam room. I made it clear that I hadn't had a physical in a very long time and also had a specific health concern so I thought there would be a thorough examination. Instead he told me they were short staffed and I would have to reschedule several tests. No blood work or balance tests or anything actually important was done- he took my blood pressure and tested circulation.
The PA came in next and rushed through a list of questions. The time spent on my health concern was brief and I was left with a sense that she really didn't care. My very brief physical was concluded with a sales pitch for a "concierge" health care package... $2000 a year to teach me how to cook.
So I now know as much about my health as I did before my visit to this doctor's office and am even more confused as to how I will take care of my one health concern. I understand our doctors and healthcare providers can be stretched thin, but the basic care and courtesy should not be an extravagant request. I gave two stars more than they deserve because the office was recommended by my sister so I assume she had a better experience than mine.
