I am always amazed that Solaire is still open. I suppose I feed the beast myself, so I can't complain too much. The person who does my color just so happens to work at Solaire, and while I wish she'd move on I keep going to her because she's very good- but the salon itself is really a mess. For years my chief complaint was the issue of lack of organization and customer service when you arrive. First off, if the front desk is busy checking people out you sometimes have to wait 5 or 10 minutes before even being greeted. This means your stylist doesn't know you've arrived for your appointment. While you wait there is no seating area, self-serve coffee bar or magazine table. Instead you will find people standing around leaning against the walls waiting. It's gotten to the point where my color stylist tells her clients just to come right on back when they arrive and wait in the back. I also take issue with the fact that they charge $1 to tip on a credit card. It's just a nice little slap in the face. Who carries cash these days? Frustrating. My color stylist also can't recommend a single person in the salon to cut my hair. She says no one there is very good. I wish my stylist could find another salon to take her talents too- but this location is close to her home so she's stuck there for now.
If you're new to the area keep looking. There are better places for sure!
