  • Unreal! The owner here is caustic and an unbelievably bad businessmen. I purchased a living social carpet cleaning deal which offered for $39, $99 in carpet cleaning for 3 rooms. I've an investment property that's about to go on market and thought, "why not?" Support small business. BIG mistake. This guy tried to charge us $139 and started calling repeatedly like a maniac. He had to be hung up on several times because there was no reasoning with him. An employee of Z went to the home and accessed it via a contractor lockbox. Our first contact after services were complete was the owner aggressively seeking (over)payment for services performed above what we'd requested. Taken aback, we asked for clarification and asked why we hadn't been consulted for any extras. We'd have declined or at least liked that option. He said the tech called & didn't get an answer. My question is why would he take that liberty then? As it turns out, the tech who performed the work, and who was actually very nice admitted he'd dialed the wrong number. So NO ONE ever reached out to get authorization. The owner then demanded we drive to the home which is almost an hour away to pay. Mind you, this was also approaching rush hour. And we hadn't seen the work. No way. But because the tech was so nice we said we'd consider paying a bit more. He suggested $60 more to bring the total to $99. Suspecting the owner was a nutcase, we opted to purchased a VISA prepaid card bc we didn't want to grant him access to our accounts. The guy called 3 times while we were in a meeting. In the 3rd call, we answered and gave him the card number. We have him the zip code, which he denounced as a real zip. Ummm. I think I know where I live. Angry, he told us it wasn't working. We said we'd call the card co to figure out why. NO more than 5 mins later he was calling again! And threatening to put a lien on the property... for $60! Clown. We then realized we needed to activate the card, but since we're unfamiliar w/ these we didn't know. While ball this is going on we have the realization that if we pay this EXTRA $60, then we're essentially nullifying the Living Social deal bc the deal was for $99. This guy was likely foaming at the mouth. I could hear it in his voice. We've put in a call and complaint to Living Social and cancelled the card pending their review. UNREAL.
