We got married in September 2015 so this review is late. The venue and food were amazing and we don't have any regrets in that department. That said, I highly recommend hiring a day of wedding coordinator, especially if you're having a smaller wedding.
If it weren't for our day of coordinator I don't think everything would've been set-up or the wedding would've gone as smoothly. Devon was not around at all and we were left with a catering employee we did not meet prior as there was a larger wedding happening downstairs. We only saw her once in the stairwell where she told us we could not go downstairs to take pictures in common areas due to the other wedding.
Lastly, I would highly recommend getting an itemized price list signed with your contract upon booking. We booked in 2014 and were told that prices would be going up in 2015 but we were assured by Devon that we would pay the 2014 prices. We were quite surprised upon our final invoicing a month or two before the wedding when we were invoiced for and had to pay the 2015 prices. When I asked Devon about this I got a spiel about how Hart House had not raised their prices in years and it was long overdue. Unfortunately we only had her word and an itemized price list was not included with our contract. It was a year ago but I estimate that this cost us an additional $800-$1000 for no added benefit.
