I absolutely love this little boutique hotel. I've stayed there on a few occasions and really felt safe, even by myself. The beds are comfy and bathrooms are clean and tidy (but tiny!) The clientele seem cool, and the people that work there are helpful and respectful.
The rooms are small and sweet, but you may want to ask for one in the front. facing a wall isn't exactly uplifting in the morning. You don't stay here if you want a great view.
This is a quiet hotel, especially when you consider it's location right downtown. Once I stayed there during Caribana and there were thousands of American tourists cruising Yonge St and honking their horns and partying until the wee hours. I was prepared and brought ear plugs, but I didn't really need them. The windows are pretty quiet and air tight. I stayed in the winter and it wasn't cold in the room either.
There's a breakfast bar downstairs. The coffee isn't the best but there are so many cafe's around that you'll probably only want to eat there if you woke up late and have to get to the Royal York / Fairmont soon to grab that airport shuttle within a limited time.
The public transportation is totally accessible with the subway entrance mere steps away. Everything you need is close by, and they'll even call you a cab if you need it. You can walk down to the waterfront or up Yonge St. to shop or anywhere downtown really.
I hope to stay there again, it's a favourite of mine.
