| - This dealership has a good feel to it. We drove out from central Phoenix because of the Yelp reviews and the low internet prices. The Camelback dealer near us didn't have as good a used inventory, and their internet prices weren't as good AND, even more importantly, its Yelp reviews were nowhere near as good as Earnhardts.
I am NOT a dealership kind of guy, and haven't bought from one for years. Like everything else, the amount of documentation these days is rather stunning and, unfortunately, we were in the finance que at the very end of the day, so things took a long time to actually complete the deal. Seemed a bit odd for a straightforward cash deal but, then again, they took our signature and check to hold (for 3 business days) and gave us the car.
I must reiterate, .....since I haven't dealt with dealerships much in the past 20 years, this may all be SOP in terms of wrapping up a car deal nowadays. But, since it seemed to drag on and on towards the end, perhaps others should be prepared.
Our salesman, Shayne Walker, is a very good guy, and I had no issues with him, personally. His boss, Gavin......same thing. He did an artful job of quickly and gently explaining that our 15 yr old trade would likely do much better being privately marketed. I do apologize to Shayne for unknowingly walking off with his prized Hyundai Finance pen. I used a number of different pens in signing and signing and signing, and they all looked like promotional items to me,.......and only ONE wound up in my briefcase.
SOOOO,....my wife winds up happy with a low mile, late model Hyundai Elantra GT 5 door, and I think we got a fair deal. All in all,....yes, I'm a fan.
