I dislike that there aren't any convenient direct flights from San Francisco to Indianapolis, but I suppose that means I get to experience the "glory" that is the Sky Harbor Airport. Honestly I don't think anyone gets excited about flying through Phoenix. More like it's a common stop between major airports.
PHX a small, simple place. Nothing super positive or negative stands out about it. Kind of drab. It also happened to be a busy day with lots of people, so I was annoyed at how long the lines were at EVERY eatery in the Southwest terminal. They were all tiny holes in the wall (literally) and while I'll admit that the food I had was good, but it wasn't worth the 20 minute wait to get it. People have places to be!!
I can tell this airport has slowly improved over the years in terms of eateries, but it needs a serious facelift. Then again, it's perhaps the length of my layover that caused me to notice all these things about an airport that are just wasting space in my brain.
