| - I've been wanting to get my first tattoo for a few years now and so when I went to Vegas with a large group of friends celebrating a birthday, I thought it was the perfect opportunity! Another friend on our trip wanted to get another tattoo so we decided to check out Club Tattoo based on other Yelp reviews we read (plus it was super close to our hotel, so that was a plus).
She had a sketch of what she wanted tattooed on her back and we went in trying to figure out what font to use for the text within her tattoo. It was my first time in a tattoo parlor, so I was a bit lost, but the staff was very helpful in directing us where we needed to go to check out fonts. They had really helpful touch screen computers that let you scroll through the artists' work and search fonts. While we were debating the perfect font, one of the artists, Ben Stanton, came up to us to ask if we needed help. We showed him the design and told him what the inspiration was; he was able to help pick out the best style font and made some design adjustments to better fit my friend's darker skin tone and the overall theme of the tattoo.
Ben was super funny and very very nice, so we were sold then and there that he was going to do our tattoos. He assured us that they wouldn't hurt as much as we though they would, especially mine being that it would be my first. He said he had a light hand (which I suppose ultimately means it won't hurt as much) and he was right. My tattoo took maybe 2 minutes to do (it's a very small tattoo behind my ear) and I felt no pain whatsoever... I'm a huge baby when it comes to needles, so take my word for it when I say it was painless! My friend's tattoo took much longer due to her more intricate design, but she also said that it didn't hurt as much as she expected. Ben did a great job at putting us both at ease - he was laughing and joking around with us and helped make the experience even more enjoyable.
We were both very pleased with the staff and our tattoos. Ben Stanton is awesome, go see him!
