| - This establishment needs a serious attitude adjustment. Nothing makes up for service this bad but adding insult to injury is their slapping on a 20% gratuity (for a party of 6) when 3 of the 6 entrees ordered came out wrong, they ignored a food allergy, had run out of 3 of their house specialties of the day and took 45 minutes for the wait staff to figure out who had our table. After electing to go to the bar to order a bottle of wine for the table, glasses arrived with no wine? At the conclusion of the meal we asked to speak with a manager (which took another 15 minutes) and the most they could offer is to remove 2 of the entrees off the bill. For the prices they charge and historic reputation it wouldn't have killed them to comp the $200 tab. Let's talk a moment about the "famous sticky buns", they used to be when a hot, full basket would arrive at your table...now they count them...6 people, 6 buns (you get the picture) and refills will cost you and what is with the extra "fillers" in the basket?! Sticky buns are sticky buns, leave the rest of the junk out as guessing every basket is returned with those remaining.
Bottom line, If you want the "privilege" of paying $22 for Eggs Benedict and $16 for an Omelette of the Day (as previous reviewers commented (no substitutions) I suggest you go elsewhere, anywhere else. Then perhaps come back for a glass of wine and the views.
Take the time to read other poor reviews...in every instance the Manager attempts to comment and correct the wrongs but the same complaints are listed over and over again. They are obviously doing nothing to improve their service.
I have been a resident of Paradise Valley for 20+ years and have loved El Chorro and brought many out of town guests, friends and family there. Sad to say, I will not be returning. I hope The owners are reading some of these reviews.
