| - We come to Vegas often, at least 4-5 times a year, and have had our eyes on this buffet for the last 2 months when we were booking our most recent trip. We read many of the reviews and watched a bunch on YouTube, so we were pretty excited about trying it out, even with the $60 price tag. So you can imagine how disappointing it is to leave this place a solid 3 star rating. The prices are ridiculously high for the quality of what you're getting. Everything LOOKS absolutely delicious. Taste wise, that's an issue. We were in line on a Sunday at around 2:15 and made it up to the cashier at 10 minutes to 3:00 - which saved us about $15 per person because they were still charging the breakfast/brunch pricing and not the dinner pricing yet, so that was a plus! We paid $108 with tax for the two of us, the Mister and me. Even after you pay, you still wait about a good 20 -30 minutes to get seated, so be prepared for a long wait. I'm on the fence about the staff. They seem friendly but stand offish, if that makes sense. Almost like they're being forced to be nice and is shows. Our waitress was a bit scattered, but wasn't rude. It did take her 3 trips to get the shell crackers that we requested for the crab claws and drinks sat awhile before being refilled.
TIP: There's NO lobster! They have a lobster display in front, so you think there's lobster, but you're sadly disappointed, especially after paying so much for the meal!
Here's a run down of the food we tried:
Crab Legs: Good, but I couldn't find the hot ones anywhere, so we could only eat the already halved cold ones.
Cold Shrimp: DELCIOUS! This was the favorite of mine at this buffet. They were huge, clean, clean tasting, and fresh! No complaints about the cold shrimp at all!
Oysters, Mussels and Clams: These I stay clear from, especially at buffets, but the Mister had some of each. He enjoyed them a lot! Didn't get sick, so they were all pretty fresh. He even got seconds on each.
Prime Rib: Juicy and tender; not too much flavor, but was a decent chunk of meat.
Crawfish: Soaked in cajun seasonings and pretty good, but a little overcooked.
Crab Claws: Huge and full of meat. Fresh tasting and pretty good!
Ceviche Verde: Nice flavor, but very small portions.
Meatballs: Decent flavor but they were not warm! Even under a heat lamp, they were almost cold.
Chopped Asparagus and Carrot Mix: The asparagus was very good, the carrot was not cooked long enough so it was very hard. Wish there were more asparagus than carrot.
Beef and Broccoli: Meh... very, very salty, tasted like it was soaked in soy sauce, not oyster sauce, and was not very warm.
Teriyaki Chicken: Tender and nice flavor, but again, not warm.
Sushi: All of the rice was very dried out.
Chile Verde: Amazingly good! Tender and a great flavor!
Mini Burger: RAW!! I took one bite, tasted it, looked at the meat inside and it was RAW. Not pink, flat out raw! Spit it out and threw the rest away.
Blue Cheese and Bacon Wedge Salad: Was a decent flavor, but the dressing was very thin and watery.
Cheese: Good selection, terrible smelling, as good cheese should be, and very good tasting.
Pot Roast w/Mashed Potatoes and a Carrot Garnish: Very good meat and potatoes, the carrot was, again, not cooked and very hard to eat. The only problem with this dish was that it was SUCH a SMALL portion! It was a two bite serving. Would have had to pile on 4 of these mini trays on top of my plate to get a decent helping of this, but that would have looked terrible and it wouldn't have fit anyway!
Cupcakes: Every single one, with the exception of the carrot cake one, was dried out, like it was made 2 days ago. All were only half filled and were hard to get out of the odd holders they were in.
Orange Cheesecake Pop: This was okay.
Cheesecake with Fruit Topping: Decent piece of cheesecake and the fruit was fresh and really good. This was my favorite dessert.
Going through the photos others have provided, there were many items I see that were not available when we went. The seafood available was very limited, and most of the other food wasn't fresh or hot. The tacos looked amazing, but by the time I saw them on another person's plate, I was full of mediocre food so didn't get a chance to try them out. Overall, we will not be returning to this buffet. It was a huge disappointment. There are too many other buffets that are on par or even better than this one for far less pricing. The Orleans seafood night is about $23 per person and is as good as this one! Perhaps we came on an "off" day... but for the prices, there shouldn't be any "off" days!
