| - Now I know why just about everyone I know that is visiting Old Town Scottsdale goes to the fun clubs and fun hotels and it appears that Hotel Valley HO is chasing away people faster than they are attracting them. It's rather obvious business isn't good and the staff and service is why. I would look at the W or Andaz or a number of other places that don't have an attitude. I was told, "a hotel is for sleeping." Is that right? A Motel 6 is for sleeping and that's what the front desk is turning it into.
We picked the Ho because they had a suite available. I picked it and paid for it through hotels.com, where I am a Gold Member. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and her recent cancer recovery. We had a handful of friends come by to celebrate with us. Never does it state it's policy on bringing alcohol, not purchased from them, to the room in any
Expedia on-line booking site. This is the so called resort that started the "pool party" and was known for years (and maybe they still are) for looking the other way as prostitutes walked the property and club. They apparently saw that we were bringing liquor in with us. About five minutes after we got to the room this young gal with black hair cut short in the back and with a nasty and sour personality came banging on our door.
She said, "this isn't a party hotel, hotels are for sleeping. Didn't you read the policy when signing in?" She was meaning of course the paper that they put it front of you at check-in and say, "initial here, and here and sign at the bottom." She said "you aren't allowed to have a party or get-together in our rooms. " Telling me this as she nods her head up and down like she's scolding a little kid. I have been in 5 star resorts all over the world. I've never been treated so rudely, ever. I said we were celebrating this weekend some really great news. She said, "Only 4 people are aloud in your room, consider this your first warning." Warning from what? We just got to the room. By the way this was a $400 a night suite and it's not that great. A couple hours later she came banging on the door again and said someone complained of noise and we had to immediately leave the property. Which was bull-*hit because we weren't blaring music, we weren't talking loud, we were having adult conversation, we were not playing beer pong and doing beer bongs. She set out from the beginning that she didn't like my answers and was out to get us from the start. That's the kind of sour personality, the first person your guests meet, that you have. I will never go to the Valley Ho again and I wouldn't recommend it for any of my business associates, suppliers or anyone else.
