I suppose I am the dissent on this shop. My experience was much different than other Yelpers. I took my Dyson in for maintenance as it wasn't picking up as much dog hair on the carpet setting. The gentleman initially said approximately $90 for a routine cleaning and $100 for a new belt. $190 was high, but I figured with a little work my Dyson would be new and it was still a lot cheaper than buying a new one. About a week later I got a call, not saying that my vacuum was ready, but that I needed a new brush as mine was "warped" and that the repairs would approximate $230. Alternatively, Vac & Sew offered to trade my Dyson in and give me $200 off a $1000 Sebo vacuum.
I laughed and said I would pick my vacuum up. I then took it over to Elite Vacuum on Tropicana and Hualapai. Within a few days my Dyson was returned in mint condition for FREE. All repairs were COVERED by Dyson's warranty.
OH and the Sebo vacuum that Vac & Sew tried to sell me was actually $800. So, on top of trying to scam me out of repair money, they tried to get me to trade in my perfectly fine Dyson, where they probably would have conducted the repairs under warranty and resold for a nice profit. In return, Vac & Sew would have sold me a vacuum for full price under the misguided information that I was "getting a deal."
I called Dyson and reported Vac & Sew's terrible service. I feel they were a horrible representation of the Dyson brand. I am sure that Dyson was happy to learn one of their certified repair shops encourage competitors' products, fail to honor their warrantied products and try to rip of their customers.
