| - (TD;DR DON'T GO WITHIN A FEW HOURS OF CLOSING AND BE SURPRISED THEY'RE OUT OF SOME FOOD. IT'S BECAUSE THE EMPLOYEES TREAT THEMSELVES TO HEAPS OF FOOD IN FRONT OF A LINE OF CUSTOMERS AT THE END OF THEIR SHIFT)
I've had relatively positive experiences at this Green St. location in the past. The food is usually well prepared and service is quick. This review is not about the food, but rather the EMPLOYEES THAT HELP THEMSELVES TO THE FOOD WAY BEFORE CLOSING.
I went to this Chipotle at around 9:15 pm, 45 minutes before closing. After waiting in line with my friend, an employee motioned to me that they were going to fill out an online order. This was completely fine and I waited my turn. Mere seconds later another employee appeared behind the counter and started making another bowl. Now, I could clearly see that this employee was going IN ON THE FOOD. In his bowl he put: a tortilla, double scoop of rice, double scoop of beans, veggies, four huge scoops of steak, chicken, & barbacoa, sour cream, two salsas, and a heaping scoop of quac. Oh, and two more tortillas on the side.
Keep in mind that the line was slowly growing behind me and I had been waiting for a few minutes at that point. This employee and the employee who followed him (again, heaping food in the bowl) effectively finished off the veggies, steak, and sour cream. He packaged all of his food up and left through the back door.
Okay, I don't have an issue with employees taking food that's leftover. I absolutely think they should take it home and not waste it. But it's completely not okay to do this 45 minutes before closing, with customers in line, and take all of the food left. I sat at that Chipotle after paying and listened to the other employees tell customers, "We're out of steak, sour cream, and veggies."
So this experience completely answered my question as to why no food was left a few hours before closing. It's not the customers who PAY FOR THEIR FOOD, but rather the employees who get greedy and finish everything off at the end of their shift.
