I hate to give such a bad review, but I simply cannot offer any better than one star. I went for lunch on a fight weekend and Palms Place appears to have gone downhill. It was crowded, smelled strongly of weed, and I was harassed until I got to the elevator.
Interestingly, SIMON was empty. That should not permit them to have only one server working both the bar and dining room. Despite there only being a few other tables, it took 20 minutes to order. I can't blame it on the server, he was doing his best considering he had to take care of the entire restaurant. I'm vegan and ordered off their separate vegan menu. The dish I received was not at all what I ordered and the server tried to play it off as if I didn't know what I ordered. After a few minutes of back and forth the manager came out and explained the server didn't even know they offered the dish I ordered (some kind of quinoa). They took it off the bill and sent out the correct dish. It was probably the worst thing I have ever been served. It was cold, undercooked, and yet very greasy. I will usually just bite my tongue and eat food that isn't great, but this was inedible. I sent it back and ordered some shishito peppers that came out saturated in oil and completely burned and tasted like butane. All I can say is Kerry Simon is far too excellent a Chef to have this sad excuse of a restaurant with his name on it. If it continues in the direction it's headed, they won't be open much longer.
