The museum is a piece of art! It looks like a spaceship from the future era! AGO's architecture is amazing - the winding staircase is another fascinating feature of AGO.
On the second floor, there are several doors that lead to the cafe along dundas street. The space is another amazing place to visit!!! I LOVE it. So spacious, and the old is gorgeous. It feels out of this world. I tried the baci gelato. It was expensive but it was so tasty it was worth the spending!
It is located within walking distance from Chinatown and slightly further from dundas square. A very convenient location and a street line runs across dundas and stops right outside the museum!
Visiting the contemporary space in Aug 2013, I saw the amazing interactive rooms of "Lost in memory palace". My favorite room was the storm room, you physically stand in a typical room in Japan, where the roof is leaking and you can "see and hear" the storm brewing from the windows. The wind gets stronger, the rain gets heavier. Very realistic. Some other rooms like the "killing machine" and the "dark pool" were too creepy for me but well worth the experience!
AGO is gorgeous. However it is a smaller museum and the paintings are rather disorganized in my opinion. Thus, only 4 out of 4 out of 5 stars!!! Ai Wei Wei's exhibits are beginning soon! Don't miss it in 2013!
