  • Thanks to Sunset Station, we received free tickets to this event. I've turned my mom into a huge foodie, so of course, when she got notice of this event, we immediately booked it. The event was set for Friday 04/28/2017, Saturday 04/29/2017, and Sunday 04/30/2017. Our tickets were good for the whole weekend, but we only went on Saturday. It was a lot of people. I was surprised that there were so many, but then again; being a foodie fest, I'm not surprised. I thought that it was well organized. They had two lines. One for those who already had tickets or passes and one for those who needed to buy tickets. The regular price of the tickets weren't bad. I know I've paid more to get into different events. They had a massive amount of food trucks, stands, and tents. They had everything from BBQ, burgers, hot dogs, corn dogs, bacon wrapped turkey legs, fusion Asian choices, fried sushi, ice cream, cake, funnel cakes, Filipino food, fresh Maine lobsters, grilled cheeses in steroids, Mac and cheese, smothered nachos, French fries, alligator bites, frog legs, fried fish, fried oysters, fried chicken, cobblers, cakes, and pies, Japanese pancakes, churros, roasted nuts, cotton candy, rice bowls, Asian BBQ kebabs, pineapple shrimp, shrimp skewers, lemonades, slushes, beer, wine, and juices, fried ice cream, chicken chow mein, orange chicken bowl, mango sticky rice, garlic pork sticks, chicken satay, gourmet waffles, frosted milk, warm donuts sliced in half with ice cream in the middle and rolled in cereal, Cajun fries, po' boys, jambalaya, garlic fries, Pastrami sandwiches, chili dogs, Mac and cheese egg rolls, elote, fried tomatoes, and more!! One thing that I was very happy about was the fact that they had plenty of seating in more than one area. They offered both covered and uncovered seating. There was a main stage with local DJ's, playing good music and keeping everyone entertained. They had areas for the kids, set up like a fair or carnival. There were games, a ferries wheel, bubble blasters, etc. Since we were staying in the hotel, we didn't have to worry about parking, however there seemed to be plenty of it. This entire block where Sunset Station is located has so much parking, it's ridiculous, but it could be a long walk to and from your car. This event has some long hours and doesn't end until 11pm or midnight. It seems like more people came at night. For a 3-day event, it was consistently full. The prices weren't bad. I was satisfied with the pricing. I felt like you got big portions for the price. I've been to other foodie fests and the prices were the same, only you got small portions. You could literally share these with other people in your party, which is great, because you can try more!
