| - DISAPPOINTMENT. What a great letdown. This review is almost a month late but its better late than never, right?
I have been to this restaurant a number of times since it is close to my office. I have enjoyed their food and ambiance. The owners are nice people. I have raved on and on about the place to anyone who is looking for a good place to eat. All of those went down the drain when I ordered some party trays for my niece's birthday.
First off, when a person is ordering trays of food to serve at a party, a time is set so the caterer will have enough time to prepare the food and have it ready for pick up. That is not the case with MyDelish. Our party was for the 16th of April, and I was set to pick up the trays at around 2:00 since the party is at 4:00 and they charge a ridiculous amount of money for shipping ($50? Really?). I came in, greeted the lady owner, and just by the look on her face, I knew something was wrong. She is familiar with me so I understood the questioning look she gave me since she has never seen me on weekends at her store. When I mentioned why I was there, a look of bewilderment rested on her face and I said a silent prayer that my order would be ready.
She excused herself and called someone (probably her husband) and after a few minutes, came out looking like she fucked up big time. Which she did. Our order was not ready. Her reasoning? She had four other orders she had to take care of. WOW. Really, tita? She said that they will deliver it free of charge and I said, sure why not. Atleast the food will be warm. I gave her details about the place and repeated that the party is at 4:00. We need it at that time. She then proceeded to ask if they can bring it at 5:00. And I said NO because we only had the hall until 6:00 that day.
I was with my friends and they were not impressed with them at all. We left and went to the community center where the party is and then I waited for them to call me to say that they were there to drop off the food. 4:00 landed upon us and no calls. I called the number on their business card and spoke to the husband. He rushingly reassured me that it was on its way. By now, our food table is half empty and all of the guests were seated. We proceeded with the festivities and informed our guests that more food is on its way. 4:30 passed by without me noticing, and next time I checked my watch was close to 5:00. By this time, I was fuming. These people have not only embarrassed me, but also the rest of my family for we were the host. I called the number again. Twice, this time because they didnt answer the first time around. On the second call, a younger man answered (their son). He passed the phone to his mum who had the nerve to sound frustrated that I was angry at their work ethic. She said that it should be there already, which of course was not true. I finally had a call from them telling me that our order has arrived, but it wasnt until 5:30. 30 minutes left to our party.
I met the husband outside. I expressed my frustration and he apologized..to the ground. When he handed us our order, one of the boxes was soaked with broth spilling into the garbage bag where they placed the trays. Before he left, I told him that I want a refund. This was quite unacceptable. He said okay, but I will have to speak to his wife, which I agreed to.
We ended up bringing home the food. Nobody ate it save for my family. The food wasnt even fully warm. Half of it was, the other half left me wanting to find a microwave. The beef steak was not cooked properly. The turon wasnt fresh at all.
I did manage to get my money back but not before the wife gave this whole speech about how she's sorry and its all her fault.
TL;DR: A great disappointment when it comes to party trays. Gives excuses and lies. Had the audacity to get pissed because of a situation they caused. Go find another place to serve your filipino food needs.
