| - If you want to pay 8 to 20 times what your meal is worth, then go here. While the service is excellent, and the staff is affable and helpful with the strange mix of asian and cuban foods, the quality and taste of the food can't measure up to the prices charged, especially the appetizers. Almost 30 dollars for a salad that would have been 10 at P.F. Chang's and would have tasted better, you can guess what the draw is here: the atmosphere. Unfortunately not even that works. Everythign is so white that there is no character to the place. It's comfortable but so sterile that if you took a date here, you'd wind up trying too hard to look posh and cool, but really looking like you're a bit gay but without the classic good taste. For two with tip, the meal was $200 for one decent dish of pork, one mediocre and oversized, but tasteless salad, and one house specialty of miso fish that neither tasted of miso nor was cooked well enough to be a house specialty. The average dessert served in a dim sum basket wasn't cuban or asian, and was simply flat. If you're thinking it'd be cool to see swank in Scottsdale, then you don't understand that Scottsdale is for faux swank. Go to P.F. Chang's, pay for a reliable meal, and don't waste your time on this overpriced puff piece. My appologies to the manager because he was extremely nice and knowledgable with wine tastings and pairings, but charging those prices for that quality, he should be ashamed of himself.
