  • Prior to getting addicted to Pure Barre I was never able to successfully keep up a workout routine. Going to the gym, workout videos or doing my own thing just never stuck as a routine. Pure Barre is the first and only thing I've ever stuck with consistently in my 30 years of existence! I currently go about 4 times a week (ideally 5) and it's just a regular part of my routine now. I'm about to hit my 250th class and that made me realize I should probably go ahead and write a review. When I first started I saw results within the first 3-4 weeks. Mainly the shape of my body changing and then eventually over time I shed some pounds. Barre workouts can be incredibly effective for toning up and losing weight. If it weren't for the fact that I consume so many calories from places that I find on Yelp I'd have a better waist line to prove it. I do however have the strength in my legs and abs that I didn't have before. Be prepared to be confused your first barre class as there's really no other workout quite like it. If you've taken group classes before you'll be more comfortable but barre is still so unique that you'll feel confused regardless. Everyone goes through this so cut yourself some slack and just expect it. Be prepared to be sore the next day. This PB location is owned by sisters Marirose and Veronica. If you pay for a package at any of the locations that they own you can take classes at all of their studios (Phoenix, Central Phoenix, Scottsdale, North Scottsdale & Chandler) but not at other PB studios (ie Glendale, San Tan, etc). This location is my favorite of the four locations I've been to. The natural light from the window is nice for those of us who take the 6 AM class every morning. The lobby is spacious and there's tons of overpriced retails items that I always ignore (other than the sticky socks which I'm addicted to). I like that the cubbies for putting your stuff in are back behind the workout room and not in the lobby. Only downside to this location is that the bathroom is attached to the workout room and not the lobby but what can you do? The bathroom is stocked with ibuprofen/tampons/etc in case you need anything. Be prepared for full classes at peak times at this location and a wait list for some weekends classes. When there's a challenge going on there is more likely to be wait lists for classes. Shorts are not permitted so be sure to wear pants/capris. My male co-worker wore long basketball shorts when he tried out a class and that seems to be fine for the gentlemen (yes, guys take barre too sometimes). If you can take a class with one of the owners, Abby Watts, Ashley M, Allie M or Stephanie as they're some of my favorite instructors!
