  • David's Bridal is good for what you get. If you're looking for a knock-your-socks-off fanfare wiith champagne shopping experience, then it's your own fault if you go into a chain and are surprised. I went twice in the process of getting my wedding dress, and the first time my consultant was nice enough and found some good dresses for the tastes I'd described to her, but nothing that great - I don't actually remember her name, even. Lori, who seemed to be some type of manager, was very helfpul and didn't try to steer me toward a more traditional bride-type dress/accessories when I told her I wanted simple and laid back. She was great in that respect, and always had a smile on her face. My second visit changed my view of David's Bridal - it was GREAT! Gloria was my consultant, and I think she was brand spanking new the day I went in some time in January. What a gem! She genuinely cared about what I wanted and was truly interested in getting me the best dress I could rather than the best dress for her sales record. She was a TOTAL sweetheart and I absolutely loved her. I would go back in a heartbeat if she would be the one taking care of me. I would never do alterations at David's Bridal again. No complaints on the actual work done, but I was told it would be $35 to just bussel (spelling?) my dress, which were the only alterations I needed, so I figured I'd just do it in-house. What they didn't tell me was that only the first 3 pins were $35 and they woudl charge me for each additional one. I didn't appreciate that. If I needed other alterations done, the prices were ridiculous so I would have gone somewhere else, and probably got it done faster, too. That being said, it's totally not worth it, but the alterations staff was incredibly nice and knowledgeable.
